CONSER is a national cooperative program for cataloging serial publications. In addition to the Library of Congress and the National Library of Canada, select research, university, and U.S. federal libraries are members of the program. CONSER forms the serial arm of the Program for Cooperative Cataloging (PCC) and falls under its general oversight. The CONSER database resides on the OCLC online system and includes approximately 700,000 bibliographic records as well as associated name authority work done through the NACO program. Participants contribute original cataloging, authenticate OCLC serial records, and maintain serial records already authenticated in the database. CONSER has been in existence more than 20 years and is a leader in establishing cataloging policy for serial publications.

The CONSER Home Page contains links to other internet resources of interest to serial catalogers, internet connections to online catalogs, and CONSERline, an electronic newsletter. Also includes program membership guidelines, the CONSER calendar, and hot topics under discussion in the serials community.
