Image Research and Reproductions

Visual materials in the Archives include drawings, prints, and an extensive collection of photographs. The photograph holdings date from the 1850s through the late twentieth century and provide a rich source of information about the life of the University, as well as about the history of photography.

Many of the Archives' photographs are described in the following inventories. Selected images are available online in VIA. Most of the Archives’ photographic holdings must be viewed on site in the Archives reading room.

Other photographs can be found among the administrative records of the University, the records of associated organizations, and the personal papers of faculty members.

The Archives does not provide picture research. Please visit our reading room to view and select images. Or, you may send a representative to our reading room on your behalf.
