Electronic Discussions Lists

HULINFO
This is a Harvard-only electronic discussion list used for dissemination of library-related information, including committee minutes, administrative announcements, the OIS Newsletter, and any other posting of interest to the Harvard Library community. Subscription is limited to Harvard staff members. See also HULINFO message archive (Harvard access only).

LIBINFO
This a a Harvard-only discussion list used to repost messages from national e-mail discussion lists. OIS staff are the primary contributors to this list -- culling messages from EDUPAGE, NEWSCAN, NELINET, DIGLIB, SCOUT announcements, and several other lists and reposting them for the convenience of the library community. Other staff are encouraged to participate. Subscription is limited to Harvard staff members. See also LIBINFO message archive (Harvard access only).

Harvard Aleph Users Group (HAUG)
This is a Harvard-only list used by members of the Harvard library community for discussion of Aleph Library System operations. See also HAUG message archive (Harvard access only).

OASIS/EAD users discussion list
The OASIS/EAD discussion list (called oasis-users) is open to anyone within the Harvard community who currently uses, or is interested in using, OASIS and EAD. This list is meant to be a forum in which to ask practical questions about encoding, to find out about other repositories' practices, to exchange tips for making markup easier, etc. See the OIS web site for more information about OASIS. ERESINFO
The eresinfo list is a Harvard-only information-sharing list for library staff with an interest in electronic resources. General communication, questions and information-sharing of all sorts are welcome and appropriate. Vendor communications and updates will also be posted regularly to this list. VIAINFO
The "VIA info" list sends messages to highlight the materials from contributing Harvard repositories and gives updates on major VIA collections, including the Loeb Design Library and the Fine Arts Library. These messages remind users of the diversity of visual materials available in VIA, give advice on searching for these materials and provide contacts for more information about VIA. RESERVES USERS DISCUSSION LIST
The Reserves Users discussion list (called reserves-users) is open to anyone in the Harvard community involved in the support of course reserves, and especially those participating in the Reserves List Service. This list is used by the HUL Office for Information Systems (OIS) to disseminate information about Reserves List Service operations but is also a forum for asking practical questions about any reserves support practice.
