OLIVIA staff workshops for 2008

The OLIVIA Working Group has scheduled 3 offerings of the OLIVIA staff workshop series in 2008. OLIVIA is a centrally-supported cataloging system for visual materials, designed to supply data to the VIA union catalog. Training classes are open to all in the Harvard libraries, archives and museum communities. However, any Harvard repository that wishes to begin contributing to OLIVIA/VIA should consult the VIA scope description and contact the VIA Working Group about using the system.

Workshops include:

OLIVIA workshop #1 (basic record creation; the OLIVIA/VIA relationship)
OLIVIA workshop #2 (more record creation; sets; searching)

The 2008 schedule is:

February (note: only 2 seats are available in these events)
OLIVIA 1  Thursday, February 21, 9:30am-12:30pm 
OLIVIA 2  Friday, February 22, 9:30am-12:30pm

May
OLIVIA 1  Thursday, May 15, 9:30am-12:30pm 
OLIVIA 2  Friday, May 16, 9:30am-12:30pm

October
OLIVIA 1  Thursday, October 16, 9:30am-12:30pm 
OLIVIA 2  Friday, October 17, 9:30am-12:30pm

OLIVIA workshops are held in the OIS Training Room, room 020 in the lower level of 90 Mount Auburn St.

The workshops are free, but space is limited. To register one or both of these workshops, please complete this request form   http://hul.harvard.edu/ois/systems/olivia/f-workshop-request.html .

OIS staff will confirm your registration within a day or so. Seating preference will be given to those actively using (or planning to use) OLIVIA.
