DRS & Delivery Services
11/05 Image Delivery Service (IDS) 2.0.23 released:
* Thumbnail images for JPEG2000 objects are now pre-generated and stored
for delivery as needed. This should speed up display of thumbnail images,
especially when large numbers of images are involved (e.g., in VIA
displays).
* Software changes that will allow OIS to migrate the TIFF-to-GIF
conversion process from PDS to IDS. In a future release, PDS will be
changed to use IDS for this conversion.
11/06 Access Management Service (AMS) 1.3.7 released. Added support for
the new open access scholarly repository (DASH).
11/17
DRS
customer survey results were released.
11/17 Information about the
'DRS
2' enhancements process was released.
11/19 Release 3.3.0 of DRS Web Admin and the DRS batch loader:
* Handling of badly formatted email addresses has been improved in the
Batch Loader.
* The Asynch Delivery Service (used by curators and deposit agents to
download objects from the DRS) was simplified so users no longer need to
write down a user name and password in order to access their request. The
URL sent by Asynch now contains a secure and unique key that allows
immediate download.
* Stability of the Asynch Delivery Service has been improved by
centralizing the service to a single server.
11/19 NRS Web Admin 1.10.11 released: increased the database connection
pool size from 5 to 20 to accommodate heavier user load.
11/19: Image Delivery Service (IDS) bug fix: fixed a problem that
intermittently prevented IDS from reading the OLIVIA IP bypass file,
which was causing erratic image display behavior in OLIVIA.
