Reminder: upcoming OLIVIA staff workshops

This is a reminder of upcoming OLIVIA workshops for staff.

OLIVIA is a centrally-supported cataloging system for visual materials, designed to supply data to the VIA union catalog. Training classes are open to all in the Harvard libraries, archives and museum communities. However, any Harvard repository that wishes to begin contributing to OLIVIA/VIA should consult the VIA scope description and contact the VIA Working Group about using the system.

Workshops include:

OLIVIA workshop #1 (basic record creation; the OLIVIA/VIA relationship)
OLIVIA workshop #2 (more record creation; sets; searching)

February 2009
OLIVIA 1  Thursday, February 19, 9:30am-12:30pm 
OLIVIA 2  Friday, February 20, 9:30am-12:30pm

May 2009
OLIVIA 1  Thursday, May 14, 9:30am-12:30pm 
OLIVIA 2  Friday, May 15, 9:30am-12:30pm

OLIVIA workshops are held in the OIS Training Room (room 020) in the lower level of HUL Offices at 90 Mt. Auburn Street.

How to register
The workshops are free, but space is limited. To register, please use the OLIVIA training request form. OIS staff will confirm your registration within a day or so. Seating preference will be given to those actively using (or planning to use) OLIVIA.
