The Advanced Order Loader has been implemented in Aleph. The Advanced Order Loader is an automated process that loads files of vendor bibliographic records into HVD01, with an item, order, encumbrance, and holding (optionally) for each record. The process is designed to work with any vendor MARC records, brief or full.

The Advanced Order Loader replaces the previous version of the Order Loader in Aleph, which could not add orders/items to existing HVD01 records. In the previous version, all vendor records were loaded as new records and duplicates were reported to staff for manual clean-up. With the Advanced Order Loader, when a vendor record matches to an existing HVD01 record, the order/item/holding is added to the existing bib record.

More information on the service is available on the Aleph Documentation Center in the Batchloading Orders (Order Loader) document.

A request form to have records loaded for your unit is available.

Please contact Corinna Baksik with any questions.

For order loader issues or problems, please contact the Aleph Support Center.

Thank you,
Corinna
