To library users of Reserves List,
Regarding last week's problem displaying unlinked citation requests containing extremely common titles (like "Sourcebook" or "Coursepack") ...
Since this problem is caused by a technical limitation in the Reserves List database, we can improve how the Library Tool handles it but we can't really "fix" it (it's a feature, not a bug). Problem is limited to the Library Tool – the Course Tool is not affected.
As of this morning (Thursday 17 September), displaying an unlinked request with a too-common title will no longer fail. Instead, the request will display with a warning message that the title is too common. To use auto-search or to create a new citation, you will need to add more details to the request (for example, add more words to the title or add an author last name).
