Aleph implementation of OCLC-MARC Format Update 2010 will occur in stages over the next 2-3 weeks. The first set of updates will be implemented tomorrow, Thursday, May 27. Included in this first phase will be new codes for fixed fields, repeatability of subfield $e in the 040 field, and a new note field for Source of Description. A detailed list of changes is below.
New MARC elements related to Resource Description and Access (RDA) will be implemented in the first half of June, to coincide with release of the RDA Toolkit. Updates to bibliographic and holdings records for RDA will be implemented first, followed by updates for authority records.
