Harvard Aleph Users Group (HAUG)
About HAUG
HAUG is an electronic list where staff can discuss Aleph operations at Harvard, including functional issues (acquisitions, cataloging, etc.) and other topics (logins, printing, character set, etc.). Library staff are encouraged to post comments, share discoveries, inquire how other units are using the system, etc.
An archive of HAUG messages is available on the web.
HAUG is a Majordomo-based list (just like HULINFO). HAUG is a Harvard-only list open to anyone in the Harvard community.
OIS will continue to post major Aleph announcements to HULINFO (as well as HAUG). However, discussions of Aleph functions should generally not appear on HULINFO but on HAUG instead!
PLEASE NOTE: OIS staff will be monitoring HAUG but if you want to submit an official support request, please send it via the Aleph Support Center on the web: http://hul.harvard.edu/ois/support/support-aleph.html.
How to subscribe
You can subscribe directly by addressing a message to "majordomo@hulmail.harvard.edu"; body of message should contain just the phrase "subscribe haug". Or you can subscribe using a form on the HUL web site: http://hul.harvard.edu/resources/hul_lists.html .
How to post messages
Address your message to: haug@hulmail.harvard.edu
Note that Majordomo will insert "[haug]:" into the Subject line of every message distributed by this list.
Since there is one list intended to cover all topics Aleph, we ask that message postings include a specific topic in the Subject line of the message. For the most common topics we suggest the following Subjects:
General
Login
Desktop
Conversion
Acquisitions (which can include financial)
Cataloging
Serials
Circulation
Reserves
OPAC
