Three new categories have been added to the Aleph Support Center for
reporting problems to Database Management ...
Database
Management: Duplicate headings

Database
Management: Headings problem

Database
Management: General
http://hul.harvard.edu/ois/systems/aleph/forms/f-supp-dbm-general.html
Staff who encounter problems with duplicate records or incorrect headings
should follow local procedures for dealing with these problems. In
most cases, this means reporting these problems to your technical
services department where designated staff have authorization to update
bibliographic records, move your own library's holdings, orders, items,
and subscriptions from one record to another, and delete duplicate name,
conference, and series authority records. Incorrect headings that
affect fewer than 25 records should be resolved locally as should
duplicate records that involve only your library's holdings or
records.
Headings problems which involve more than 25 records and duplicate
records that cannot be resolved locally should be reported via the Aleph
Support Center using the appropriate category. For headings
problems, supply correct and incorrect forms of the headings and the
number of headings involved (50+ is sufficient when the number is
large). For duplicate records, provide record numbers and indicate
which record is preferred.
If you have a backlog of problems which you have already printed out,
please send them to my attention at OIS. Questions about database
management should be submitted using the "General"
category.
Thanks.
