Aleph Update: Changes to fixed field forms

This message will be of interest to cataloging and
acquisitions staff.
Cataloging forms for fixed fields will change to a two column display on
Friday, April 20th. The change applies to LDR, 008, 007 and 006 fields in
HVD01, HVD60 and HVD10. This display will allow staff to view the entire
form without scrolling.
The fixed field elements will display sequentially from left to right
down the screen. For example:
[00-05] Date entered [06] Type of date
[07-10] Date 1 [11-14] Date 2
While the Cataloging Team would have preferred to display the
first half of the elements down the left column and the second half down
the right column, it was not possible in the current configuration of
Aleph.
The Tab key will still move the cursor through the form in the correct
order.
Staff who have changed Aleph default fonts to a larger size, or who have
a screen resolution that is lower than the recommended 1024x768 should
contact IT support before Friday, April 20th to determine if adjustments
are needed.
Please feel free to contact me with any concerns or questions.
Thanks,
Allison Powers (on behalf of the Cataloging Team)
