Collections with a type designation of “Standard VC” are hosted entirely on the VC server and provide limited customization options to curators. Those designated as “Custom VC” are integrated with other content on a server local to the collection owner and offer additional customization options to the curator.
Chinese Rubbings Collection
- Type: Standard VC
- Description: Chinese Rubbings Collection - More than 2000 digital images of Chinese rubbings that capture Buddhist and Daoist scriptural texts dating from the Qin Dynasty (221-207 BCE) to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 CE) that were carved on stone slabs, cave walls, bronze vessels, jade, ceramics, roof tiles, and other materials. The rubbings themselves date from the Ming Dynasty to about 1940 and are highly accurate, often unique sources for scholars of Chinese history, epigraphy, and related disciplines.

Dying Speeches and Bloody Murders: Crime Broadsides
- Type: Custom VC
- Description: Descriptions and links to digitized versions of more than 500 crime broadsides from the collections of the Harvard Law School Library. (Broadsides are one page notices sold to audiences that gathered to witness public executions in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century Britain). The examples digitized span the years 1707 to 1891 and include accounts of such crimes as arson, assault, counterfeiting, horse stealing, murder, rape, robbery, and treason.

Harvard Map Collection Digital Maps
- Type: Standard VC
- Description: Descriptions and links to over 1,000 digitized maps and atlases from the Harvard Map Collection. Many are georeferenced for use in a GIS. Highlights include maps of Boston, Cambridge and other Massachusetts towns, New England, London, China, pictorial maps by Ernest Dudley Chase, fire insurance and real property atlases, and maps of the Revolutionary War.

Latin American Pamphlet Digital Collection
- Type: Standard VC
- Description: More than 5,000 titles including many scarce and unique Latin American pamphlets published during the 19th and the early 20th centuries. Chile, Cuba, Bolivia and Mexico are the countries most heavily represented in this collection.

- Description: Contagion - Historical Views of Diseases and Epidemics - Selected historical materials from Harvard's libraries, special collections, and archives including more than 500,000 pages of digitized books, serials, pamphlets, incunabula, and manuscripts that contribute to the understanding of the global, social-history, and public-policy implications of disease and offer important historical perspectives on the science and the public policy of epidemiology today.

Immigration to the United States, 1789 -1930
- Type: Custom VC
- Description: Selected historical materials from Harvard's library, archives, and museums documents voluntary immigration to the US from the signing of the Constitution to the onset of the Great Depression. The collection includes approximately 1,800 books and pamphlets, 6,000 photographs, 200 maps, and 13,000 pages from manuscript and archival collections. By incorporating diaries, biographies, and other writings capturing diverse experiences, the collected material provides a window into the lives of ordinary immigrants.

- Description: More than 500,000 pages of historical documentation focusing on the role of women in the United States economy. The sources include books, pamphlets, manuscripts and images selected from Harvard's library and museum collections.

Studies in Scarlet: Marriage and Sexuality in the U.S. & U.K.
- Type: Standard VC
- Description: Studies in Scarlet presents the images of over 420 separately published trial narratives of American, British, and Irish cases 1815-1914 involving domestic violence, bigamy, seduction, breach of promise to marry, and the custody of children, as well as trials for murder and rape. These trials are especially rich sources for the study of the history of women in early modern society.

- Description: The Poet's Voice provides online access to selected digital audio recordings of poetry readings from the Harvard College Library's Woodberry Poetry Room.

Archived Harvard University Online Course Catalogs (A-Cats)
- Description: Harvard University's online course catalogs from Fall 2005 to the present. A-Cats contains course descriptions, faculty information, and calendar information for each school in three separate, searchable databases.
Biomedical Image Library
- Description: A publicly accessible repository and retrieval system of original digital micrographs that have been produced in support of basic biological research.
Harvard Iranian Oral History Project
- Description: A resource containing 118 digitized narratives of individuals who witnessed or played key roles in important political events in Iran from the 1920s to the 1980s.
MCZ Ernst Mayr Library Artwork Collection
- Description: A catalog of digitized images, from holdings of the Library's Special Collections and Archives, produced in support of zoological research including watercolors and drawings by Jacques Burkhardt, who was MCZ founder Louis Agassiz's personal and principal artist.
Milman Parry Collection
- Description: An online Database of Harvard's Milman Parry Collection of Oral Literature (MPCOL) including the heroic songs, conversations, and stories in the Parry Collection (1933-35), and the entire contents of the Lord Collection (1950-51).
