Kathryn (Kathy) Jacob, Johanna-Maria Fraenkel Curator of Manuscripts at the Schlesinger Library, was elected to the Manuscript Repository Section Steering Committee for the 2001-2002 term at the annual meeting of the Society of American Archivists held in Denver in August.
Other Schlesinger staff who attended the conference were Glynn Edwards, manuscripts processor, Anne Engelhart, associate curator of manuscripts, Deborah Richards, manuscripts processor, and Susan von Salis, archivist and information systems administrator.
Jim Reid-Cunningham, Frances Loeb Librarys Conservator, exhibited a design binding in the DeGoyler Triennial Exhibition and Competition 2000, held at the Bridwell Library at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. The purple goatskin binding with gold tooling was executed on a copy of Andre Malraux, Le Musee Imaginaire, Paris: Skira, 1947. Jim Reid-Cunningham also taught a one-week course in Book Conservation at the North Bennet Street School in Boston in August.
Page Nelson was promoted from Cataloging Assistant to Cataloger. He has 20 years of cataloging experience and is looking forward to embracing his new job duties at the Frances Loeb Library.
Maria Tina da Rosa is the new Serials Assistant. Previously Tina was at the Countway Medical Library where she worked as the Government Documents Assistant.
Mary Croxen, Cataloger, and Scott Kehoe, Head of Public Services, left the Frances Loeb Library librarians, during the summer. Mary left to work for Ex-Libris. Scott took a position as a Reference Consultant/Trainer for the Northeast Massachusetts Regional Library System.
