Liz recently attended the SLA Winter Meeting in Savannah, Georgia, where she gave a presentation during a candidates' forum and where she led a session entitled "Techniques for Managing your Chapters" at the SLA Leadership Development Institute. Liz has been a member of SLA since 1976 and is treasurer of the Boston chapter. She was elected a fellow of the SLA last June.

Steven Riel, Technical Services Librarian of the Botany Libraries, has been appointed co-chair of the ACRL Science and Technology Section's Subject and Bibliographic Access Committee.

In January, three Radcliffe staff members—Susan von Salis, Schlesinger Library information systems administrator, Jacalyn Blume, the Schlesinger's photograph cataloger, and Kim Brookes, director of the Radcliffe Information Technology Office—presented workshops for the staff of Harvard's Center for Renaissance Studies in Florence. Michael Rocke, the Nicky Mariano Librarian of Biblioteca Berenson at the Villa I Tatti, invited the three. Von Salis and Brookes presented a two-day workshop on making finding aids available for search and display on the internet via Harvard's Online Archival Search and Information System, OASIS. Blume, who worked for Villa I Tatti several years ago as an archivist, presented a workshop on manuscript processing as well as on providing access to images on the web on the Harvard Visual Image Access database known as VIA.
