Call for Proposals—Round 5
Library Digital Initiative:
Image Digitization Projects

Friday, December 14, is the deadline for the fifth round of proposals to the Internal Challenge Grant Program of the Library Digital Initiative (LDI). The new call for proposals is posted on the LDI web site at http://hul.harvard.edu/ldi/current_call.html. The Round 5 challenge grants will fund image digitization projects using current Harvard University Library (HUL) systems and services for visual materials.

To date, twelve projects have been funded through the LDI Internal Challenge Grant Program. Project goals have ranged from digital conversion of analog materials to the development of new systems to deliver material that is "born digital." These University-wide projects have been critical in establishing LDI's infrastructure. Because LDI resources are fully dedicated to the development of core infrastructure supporting grants made in Rounds 1 through 4, proposals must involve existing digital library infrastructure in a production environment. All projects require 1:1 matching funds.

For more information on Round 5 proposals, contact Wendy Gogel in the HUL Office for Information Systems at wendy_gogel@harvard.edu or 5-3724.
