Holden Holds Forth

150 colleagues and friends gathered at Loeb House on September 25 to honor University Archivist Harley Holden on the occasion of his retirement. Holden came to Harvard in 1960 after completing his undergraduate degree in history at Boston University. He began his work in the Archives at the behest of his neighbor and family friend Clifford K. Shipton, the longtime "custodian" of the University Archives. Holden, an associate of Adams House, has served as University Archivist since 1971.
