A Day of Festivities Marks Completion of the Widener Renovation Project

After five years of moving, drilling, pounding, cleaning, painting, and more moving, the Widener Renovation Project was officially concluded with an all-day staff celebration on Thursday, August 5. The day began with a recognition breakfast in the Loker Reading Room for Widener staff, former Widener staff who worked in the building during the project, and contractor employees. The breakfast was hosted by Nancy Cline, Roy E. Larsen Librarian of Harvard College, and Paul Bellenoit, HCL director of operations. In the afternoon, the Widener staff hosted an open house for Harvard's full library community and for Widener's faculty study holders. The day concluded with a reception in the rotunda for Widener staff, the principals of Einhorn Yaffee Prescott and Lee Kennedy Company and their guests, senior managers, and members of the Widener Building Committee.
