Melissa Ackerman

Prior to coming to Harvard, Melissa Ackerman worked as a therapist at the South End Community Health Center in Boston, and as a career counselor at Boston College and Simmons College. She earned a BA in psychology at the University of Rhode Island and an MA in counseling psychology at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon.

Beth E. Carey

Beth E. Carey attended the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, where she studied performing arts and music. She is an artist and musician. She worked in the Shelving Department at the Countway Library for one year prior to her current position at the Circulation Desk.

Diana Carey

Diana Carey has an MLS from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, and has worked at institutions as diverse as the William Morris Hunt Library at the Museum of Fine Arts, the Marine Biological Laboratory Archives at Woods Hole, and the American Museum of Natural History in New York. She also spent three years managing a vintage poster gallery in Manhattan, learning about the history of advertising and lithography. Her most recent position was as a staff assistant for the Radcliffe Research Partnership Program.

Joling Chia

Joling Chia worked most recently at Rivier College in Nashua, New Hampshire, as a computer laboratory assistant and then as a technical services librarian. She holds a BS in mathematics and education from the National Taiwan College of Education, an MS in computer science from Rivier College, and an MSLIS from Simmons.

Marilyn Costanzo

Marilyn Costanzo recently worked as the archives coordinator at Boston University's School of Theology Library. Prior to that she worked for several years at the Mary Baker Eddy Library as an archivist, researcher, and education coordinator. She has both an MA in English and in history from Slippery Rock University, and is completing her PhD at the University of Maine in Orono.

Enrique Diaz
Designer/Multimedia Specialist (January)

Since 1999, Enrique Diaz has worked for HCL Information Technology Services as information services coordinator. Prior to working at HCL, he was the online news director for the 7 News web site at WHDH-TV in Boston, where he was responsible for developing efficient methods for delivering newscasts and features on the web and for piloting projects with NBC, IBM, and Real Networks. He created sites before that as a web designer for ICSI, an Internet services provider in Texas, where he attended Texas A&M International University.

Chip Goines

Chip Goines worked at Cornell before coming to Harvard, as a systems programmer for the Cornell University Library and as a programmer for the university's Distributed Learning Services, and has also worked at the web sites for The New York Times and The Washington Post. He studied computer science at the Rochester Institute of Technology and at Cornell.

Howard Ogilvie

Howard Ogilvie most recently worked at Sovereign Bank in Boston, as a credit analyst and a portfolio analyst, and prior to that was an accountant and a senior collection analyst at TAC Worldwide Systems in Dedham. He holds a BA in history from the University of Massachusetts.

Amber Rose

Prior to accepting this position, Amber Rose worked in Access Services' Stacks Division, first as a student assistant and subsequently as an LHT stacks assistant, for the past four years. She is a recent graduate of Harvard, having completed her AB degree in folklore and mythology last June.

Jennifer Tomase
Writer/Electronic Media Specialist (January)

Jennifer Tomase has been with MIT for seven years and most recently served as the internal communications coordinator in the Communications and Public Affairs Department of the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research, where she managed the intranet and wrote for institute publications. She graduated from Tufts University with a BA in English and a BS in biology.
