High-School Students Spend Summer at HCL
For seven weeks this summer, six high-school students from Cambridge and Boston worked in the Harvard College Library (HCL) through STEP—the Summer Teen Employment Program—a program run by Harvard since 2001 that gives students of high-school age an early opportunity to experience an office environment. This summer marked HCL's second year of involvement with STEP. Primarily a learning experience for the students, STEP has also helped HCL units meet staffing needs when many employees are enjoying summer vacations.
2005 STEP program participants are shown with their HCL supervisors in the photograph. Front row: Fran Giuffre (Tozzer), Roxane Bettencourt, Isabel Quintana (Tozzer). Middle row: Aaron Weinberger (HRS), Amy Duschaneck (HRS), Lhakyi Lokyitsang, Cassandra
