New Appointments
Annie Jo Cain
Web Specialist/Reference Librarian (November)
John F. Kennedy School of Government Library
Annie Jo Cain graduated with a BS in informatics from the University
of
Washington. After a brief career as a trust accountant, she returned
to
graduate school and obtained her MSLIS from Simmons.
Linda Chen
Doorchecker (February)
Operations

Linda Chen has held positions in several different fields, most
recently as
senior research assistant at the American Foundation for the Blind.
She holds a
BA in biological sciences and psychology from Washington University,
as well as
a master's of public administration and a master's of
public health, both from
Columbia University. She is currently working towards a PhD in sociomedical
sciences at Columbia.
Kerry Cronin

Until recently, Kerry Cronin worked as a staff assistant at the
Fogg Art Museum,
where she provided a wide range of archival, administrative, and
financial
assistance for the Archaeological Exploration of Sardis project.
She has also
worked with museum collections at Harvard's Semitic Museum,
UCLA's Fowler
Museum, and the Kahramanmaras Museum in Turkey. She received a BA
in
anthropology and Middle Eastern studies from the University of Notre
Dame and an
MA in Near Eastern archaeology from UCLA. She is currently studying
graphic
design.
Virginia Dent

Virginia Dent served as theatre advisor at Lansing High School in
Lansing, New
York, where she worked as an English teacher, founded the drama
program, and
produced and directed dramatic productions. She has also held several
library
positions, most recently at the Derry Public Library in Derry, New
Hampshire,
where she served as cataloging and inventory assistant. She holds
a BA in
English and American literature from Brown and an MEd from Harvard.
Linda DiBenedetto

Linda DiBenedetto has worked in Access Services since 1997. For
the past four
years, she worked as a library assistant in the Circulation division,
where she
received, processed, and shelved books from HD. She also answered
questions and
solved problems concerning HD books and requests. She has a BS in
education from
Salem State College.
Timothy Driscoll

Most recently, Timothy Driscoll worked at Harvard Business School's
Baker
Library, where he was an archivist/records manager in Historical
Collections.
Prior to that he worked as curator of manuscripts and archives at
the
Andover–Harvard Theological Library, Harvard Divinity School.
He holds a BA in
English and an MA in history/archival management, both from the
University of
Massachusetts, Boston.
Timothy Elliott

Timothy Elliott has seven years of experience performing Unix and
Linux system
administration duties, including developing scripts using Perl,
CGI, HTML,
Tcl/Expect, C, and Korn shell. He also has knowledge and training

of Java, C programming, SQL, and relational databases.
Bobbi Fox

Bobbi Fox was most recently employed as a senior software engineer
at Guardium,
Inc., in Waltham, and prior to that was a principal software engineer
at
Northern Light Technology in Burlington, a company that pioneered
a number of
innovative features for web searchers. She has also worked as an
independent web
site and database designer since 1995. She received both a BS in
computer
science and an MS in technology and human affairs from Washington
University in
St. Louis.
Katherine Fox

Katherine Fox comes from the Center for American History at the
University of
Texas at Austin, where she was head of Reference Services for almost
seven
years. Before that, she was the special collections librarian and
interim
university archivist at the University of Houston Libraries. She
earned both an
MA in history and an MLS from Indiana University, as well as a BA
in classical
studies and history from Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan.

Anne Frankel has nearly 15 years of experience as a serials assistant
at the
Harvard Medical School's Countway Library, where she processed
and maintained
serials materials for over 2,000 titles. She holds a BA in anthropology
from
Brandeis University.
Roshni Gohil

Roshni Gohil worked for three years at the Reed College Library
in Portland,
Oregon, most recently as lead student supervisor. She monitored
the work of
circulation/reserve staff and created and updated patron records.
She has a BA
in linguistics from Reed College.

Alexandra Greenberg served as a
technical services library assistant at the College of Wooster Libraries
in
Wooster, Ohio, for two years, where she processed serials mail and
newspapers
and prepared and filed reference materials. She holds a BA in English

College of Wooster.
Bohyun Kim

Bohyun Kim last worked as a law library assistant at Mintz, Levin,
Cohn, Ferris,
Glovsky, and Popeo PC in Boston. She has also worked as a library
assistant at
the Robbins Library in Harvard's philosophy department in
the Faculty of Arts
and Sciences. She has a BA in philosophy and an MA in western philosophy,
both
from Seoul National University in South Korea. She also has an MA
in classical
philosophy from Harvard and is currently working towards an MSLIS
at Simmons.
Xelaju Korda

Xelaju Korda is currently a PhD
student in Latin American studies at Tulane University and was a
guest
student at Harvard during the fall term after Hurricane Katrina
shut down the
New Orleans campus. She holds a BA in French and Francophone language,
literature, culture, and history from Evergreen State College in
Olympia,
Washington. She has held several positions at Tulane, most recently
as a
teaching assistant, where she taught the introductory course in
Latin American
studies.
Keith Lyseth

Most recently, Keith Lyseth worked
for The Veron Company, a landscaping firm in Marlboro, Massachusetts.
Prior to that he worked for ten years as floor crew supervisor at
Rotman's
furniture and carpet store in Worcester. He holds a diploma in industrial
electronics from the Worcester Technical Institute, and he served
in the Air
Force National Guard from 1989 to 1993.
Shenika McAlister

temp for the past year. In addition, she's worked as the administrative
assistant/office manager for Claflin Capital Management in Boston

2000. She earned her MSLIS from Simmons last May, and she also holds
a BA in
English from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Beth Raymond

For the past year and a half, Beth Raymond has worked at HCL's
Fine Arts Library
as a serials/public services assistant, performing all aspects of
serials
management, and as an administrative coordinator for the librarian
of the Fine
Arts Library. She has a BA in French and religious studies from
the University
of Massachusetts, Amherst, as well as a master of theological studies
from
Boston University, and is currently working for an MSLIS at Simmons.
Scott Salvaggio

Scott Salvaggio graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of music
degree from
the Berklee College of Music in 2004, and has been working since
then as a
faculty assistant at the Kennedy School. He has decided to pursue
a career in
information science and is currently a student at the Simmons Graduate
School of
Library and Information Science.

Jeanne Simpson

Jeanne Simpson has worked as an associate librarian at the University

Massachusetts, Boston, where she managed the daily operations of

Circulation and Access Services departments. She also hired, trained,

Julia Starkey

Sarah Tudesco

Sarah Tudesco has worked for the
past four years at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, first
as systems and
digital services librarian, and more recently as assistant director
for systems
and resource management. Her responsibilities included managing
technical
services and coordinating library assessment activities. She has
a BA in English
and biology from Oberlin College and an MSLIS from Simmons.
Liza Vick

Until recently, Liza Vick served as research librarian for music,
dance, drama,
and German at the University of California's Langson Library.
Her primary
responsibilities were in the areas of collection development, reference,
and
instruction. She has also worked as a digital conversion specialist
at the
Library of Congress's National Digital Library in Washington,
DC. She holds a BA
in flute performance from West Chester University, an MLS from the
University of
Maryland, and a master's of music in ethnomusicology, also
from the University
of Maryland.
Meghann Walk

Meghann Walk earned a BA from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign,

an MSLIS from Simmons. She has experience working as a research
assistant and
student assistant at the University of Illinois, where she assisted
on various
projects. Most recently, she worked for Professor Joseph Abdo as
a research
assistant transcribing the journals of Samuel Longfellow.
Rachel Wise

Rachel Wise has worked at the Massachusetts Historical Society for
the past five
years, first as a manuscripts cataloger and then as senior manuscript
processor.
She also worked as a library technician in the Hebraic section of
the Library of
Congress and as an archives assistant in the Chicago Jewish Archives.
She has a
BA in Judaic studies from the University of Chicago and an MSLIS
from Simmons.
