Librarians' Assembly on May 10
Following a state-of-the-library address by University Library Director Sidney Verba, the Assembly featured a panel discussion among (left to right) Joyce E. Chaplin, professor of history in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences; Thomas A. Horrocks, associate librarian for collections in HCL's Houghton Library; and Sara Schechner, the David P. Wheatland Curator of the Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments in the Harvard Science Center. The panel, which centered on the process of creating "Benjamin Franklin: A How-to Guide," discussed how they worked—and are still working—together to develop an exhibit on science, sociability, and the circulation of knowledge in Franklin's day.
