Harvard University Library Notes / May 2006 / No. 1331HCL's PEER ProgramThe College Library's PEER Program—short for Preparing Employees for Entry and Retention—has paired nearly 30 new HCL employees with experienced HCL staffers willing to share a few hours of their time and expertise during the new staff member's first three months on the job. The program, offered to both administrative-professional and support staff, gives the new employee a person outside his or her immediate unit who can answer questions, offer guidance, and make introductions. Lynn Wang DeLacey (left), bindery and preservation assistant in HCL's Lamont Library, and Barbara Burg (center), research librarian in Widener, volunteered to serve in HCL's PEER Program. Liza Vick (right), public services music reference and research librarian in the Loeb Music Library, was mentored by DeLacey through the PEER Program.
